JORIS MARTENS STUDIO / Heimtextil 2019

What a weird edition it was Heimtextil 2019, so cautious it seemed. An empty dance floor in a steel and glass palace. There is an economic crisis, that’s for sure. But how much love I experienced amongst the designers, amongst open minded business people who did dare to be open to the new, looking around without prejudices and without way to much concerns. Business people with a heart for textile they are. 

Textile, my friend, is not only a business, it’s fundamental: we all need textile. Around our bodies, in the seat of the tube, train, car and to create your private world at home. Textile is what keeps us protected, warm and caressed. Textile is essential, or are you going to shoot some bears for fur instead? People with a vision, an artistic vision do a call. I am only one of them. Just wait and discover amazing products when they hit shop shelves after product development is done with the love of all people involved.

My designs this year leave for Russia, Belgium, China, America.. who is talking about walls? There is always light and warmth at the end of a tunnel or should I say at the end of a tunnel view? Now start rubbing your hands. That’s how it feels. That’s how you should feel now. Warm and blessed, I so much wish you do so. Thank you for visiting my booth E35 in hall 3.0 at Heimtextil.
